Has iDrone actually flown a drone show in Surabaya?

Accepted Answer

Yes — at Indonesia's largest scale. iDrone operated the 1,500-drone show recognized by MURI as the country's largest (client: PUBG Mobile, Surabaya 2026) — the 8th Anniversary closing show with 15 formations, flown from Parkir Timur Plaza Surabaya and watched from Grand City Convex. The same night we also flew the 500-drone opening show.

Can a drone show run at a stadium or large venue in Surabaya?

Accepted Answer

Yes — large venues are our strength. Choreography is designed for long viewing distances so every formation reads clearly from the entire audience area — exactly what we did for the 1,500-drone show at Grand City Convex. When conditions require it, we design a takeoff area separate from the audience — a two-site concept we have already executed in Surabaya.

Question 3

Who handles flight permits in Surabaya and East Java?

Accepted Answer

iDrone does. We hold a SORA license from DKPPU and manage coordination with aviation authorities — NOTAM and AirNav Indonesia included — for venues in Surabaya and across East Java. Event and venue permits remain the organizer's responsibility. If your venue isn't feasible under regulation, we say so upfront — before you spend anything.

How many drones do I need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on audience size, farthest viewing distance, and animation complexity. As a guide: 150–300 drones for events under 2,000 guests; 500–1,000 for mid-scale festivals; 1,500+ for national spectacles — a scale we have executed ourselves in Surabaya. Don't lock a number before consulting us.

What if it rains or the wind picks up on show day?

Accepted Answer

Light rain is usually fine; wind is our hard limit — safe operation up to Beaufort Level 5 (about 8–10 m/s). Our technical team monitors the weather and builds a contingency plan with you — exactly what saved the MURI record show in Surabaya, when heavy rain fell between the two shows and the go/no-go call was made in stages until conditions were safe. Every iDrone contract includes extreme-weather force majeure terms, including reschedule scenarios.

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

Ideally 3–4 weeks for a standard 150–300 drone show; permits and NOTAM should start at least 30 days out; 1,000+ drone shows need 6–8 weeks. Tighter timelines are often still possible for simpler 100–200 drone shows — ask us first.

Does iDrone take government or city-anniversary events?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we handle institutional and public celebrations: city anniversaries, public festivals, national celebrations, and organizational milestones. Formations can include city logos, cultural icons, and countdowns. Our institutional track record includes TMII's 50th Golden Jubilee in Jakarta and the national-scale PUBG Mobile 8th Anniversary shows in Surabaya. All flight-permit coordination is handled by us.
