How long does it take from brief to show day?

For a standard 150–300 drone show with custom animation, the ideal timeline is 3–4 weeks: 1 week for animation design & revisions, 1 week for permits, 1 week for logistics & rehearsal. Large-scale shows (1,000+) need 6–8 weeks for complex choreography and multi-city coordination.

What's the minimum area needed? We have a limited venue — is it possible?

iDrone's takeoff box technology allows a setup 4–5× more compact than conventional drone show systems. A 150-drone show can launch from an area the size of a basketball court. Hotel rooftops, mall courtyards, and resort gardens are all potentially feasible.

How many drones are right for my event?

It depends on three things: audience size, the farthest viewing distance, and the desired animation complexity. 150–300 drones are ideal for events under 2,000 people. 500–1,000 drones suit mid-scale festivals. 1,500+ drones for national spectacles.

Can it be combined with live music, lasers, or fireworks?

Yes, and the results are usually far more impactful. We can synchronize drone cues into your show with precision — from animation preparation through to live execution on show day. Laser integration is also very possible. We will coordinate directly with your show director or program director to ensure all elements run seamlessly within a single rundown.

Is it safe to fly drones over the audience?

DKPPU (DGCA) does not permit drone shows to fly over crowds or active roads for safety reasons. This means the ground risk at the performing site must be fully controlled — such as road closures, crowd control, and spectator area management. We always coordinate from the outset to ensure venue setup meets these safety standards.

Flight permits — do we handle them ourselves?

No need. iDrone handles the drone flight permit process — including coordination with relevant aviation authorities (such as local air bases and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation) in any city across Indonesia. Please note that permits outside our scope include event permits (crowd permits) and venue permits — both remain the responsibility of the event organizer.

What is the investment range for a drone show?

Light rain or drizzle usually isn't a problem — our drones are built to strict weather resistance standards. The main concern is wind speed. Our drones operate safely in wind conditions up to Beaufort Level 5 (approximately 8–10 m/s). Our technical team always checks weather conditions ahead of show day and is ready to build a contingency plan with the client.

Every iDrone contract includes force majeure provisions for extreme weather to protect our clients' interests.
