Indonesian Style Halloween
November 2024. Scream or Dance is Indonesia's first two-day horror-electronic festival that combines haunted house, EDM, and — for the first time — a Halloween drone show in the skies of Jakarta. Venue: Ancol Formula E Circuit, a modern landmark that is rarely used for festival events.
First challenge: this is a show two nights in a row. This means that our drones must perform twice, the batteries must be completely recycled, and all equipment must be fresh every day. Zero tolerance for performance degradation.
Visual Horror in the Sky
Scream or Dance is a multisensory festival — there's a laser show, a huge LED matrix, and an incredible sound system. Our challenge: drone shows must be integrated, not separate. We worked closely with the festival's lighting operator to synchronize the timing: when the drones form a certain formation, a laser shines from below, and an LED screen on the stage displays complementary visuals.
This synchronization is done with timecode — all systems run from the same master timecode, so speaker beats, lasers, LEDs, and drones are all on one precise timeline down to the frame.
